Utilizing a myriad of motifs, Ilel creates narratives of cultural heritage, conversation, and evolution. Ilel is interested in telling stories of universality in shared cultural iconographies. This work looks at the Star of David, and the many forms in which it has existed in different cultures and time periods, from the ancient to today.
The fusion of the 2 interpenetrating Triangles
encompasses all dualities, all opposites, all gender, all systems, all cultures;
the 2 becomes the 1, the separation becomes a unification.
For these reasons, the Star of David, aka Seal of Solomon,
was claimed by kings and queens and other royalties
for countless millennia,
as a symbol of Heaven On Earth
or Spirit infusing Matter.
The conjoined interdigitating triangles are also a symbol for Tantric Union.
The Star Of David symbol exists in the ancient Armenian, Ethiopian, Roman, Phoenician, Hindu, Mesopotamian, Bactrian, Egyptian and Japanese societies.
Though cosmically, it is a glyph of the Highest Order; a symbol that connects the entire World.
