Ilel’s homage to the Iznik ceramics in her own contemporary porcelain art practice is substantial – not only does the artist explore the inspirations and the creativity of the artists that came before her, she also traces the history of cross-cultural artistic production, and presents a unique expression inspired by global heritage with a contemporary color palette, loosening the rigidity the traditional arts abide by.
